Services

A service is a launchd agent on the server: ~/Library/LaunchAgents/<label>.plist. MiniControl lists the ones it finds when you add a server; tick the ones you want in the panel. Add more in Settings → (server) → Services, or install one from the catalog.

Each service row shows:

  • A filled icon when it’s running, orange when it’s running but its health check fails.
  • Its state, or a live detail line you define (below).
  • A switch. Off means off: it stays off across restarts until you switch it on again.

Give a service a web address and the row opens it in one click. MiniControl also checks that address on every refresh; a service that’s running but doesn’t answer is marked not responding.

A detailCommand runs on the server with every refresh. Its first line of output replaces “Running” in the row. Start it with ! to show it in orange. Keep it under a second.

"detailCommand": "n=$(ls ~/queue | wc -l | tr -d ' '); [ $n -gt 10 ] && echo \"!$n queued\" || echo \"$n queued\""
